Communities values are Norship values
Norship takes pride in supporting local business and community events.
Committed to community growth
Norship is deeply committed to engaging with and supporting the communities where it operates, fostering local opportunity, inclusion and long-term regional growth.
As an organisation, we are actively involved in community initiatives that support and strengthen the regions in which we operate. We invest in programs and partnerships that align with our values and contribute to the wellbeing of local people and industries.
Our community support spans charities, sporting clubs, youth development, cultural events, the arts, and initiatives that recognise the service of ex-defence personnel. We proudly back organisations and projects that make a positive impact and reflect our commitment to inclusion, opportunity and regional growth.
Our support extends to, but is not limited to, the following groups, initiatives and events:
Norship is a proud sponsor of the U15 Kangaroos girls’ rugby team. The team is led by Norship’s very own HSE Officer, a dedicated rugby league coach who understands what it takes to inspire and guide the next generation of athletes.
Their hard teamwork paid off this season with an undefeated streak which is a testament to the players’ talent and the quality of coaching behind them.

Norship was proud to welcome cadets from the Navy Indigenous Development Program (NIDP), organised by the Northeast Regional Maintenance Centre (RMP), for a tour of our shipyard.
The visit gave recruits a first-hand look at the skills, capabilities, and vital role Norship plays in sustaining Defence operations. Thank you to the RMP team for coordinating and to the NIDP cadets for their enthusiasm and curiosity throughout the day.

History was made at the first-ever Women’s All-Stars Carnival, and Norship was honoured to sponsor Papua New Guinea’s powerhouse team, “BINE NIE”! This incredible group features top-tier talent from PNG, Torres Strait, and Aboriginal backgrounds.
The atmosphere? Absolutely electric! From the unity between players, coaches, and referees, to the support of families cheering with little ones in tow, it was a celebration of community and sport. The ladies hit the field with fierce energy, showcasing their skills in what was once a male-dominated game. Proud moments for everyone involved!

What an excellent opportunity for inquisitive young minds to delve into the realms of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics!
These gatherings are organised by the Cairns Engineering Australia Committee, and Norship is delighted to support such an enjoyable occasion as a sponsor.

Norship proudly supports the next generation of fishing enthusiasts by sponsoring youth-focused competitions and hands-on workshops within the local community.
Through these initiatives, young people gain valuable skills, foster a deeper connection to the marine environment, and build confidence in a supportive and engaging setting. This commitment reflects Norship’s broader dedication to nurturing local talent and promoting sustainable maritime traditions.
