Today Norship welcomed Deputy Premier & treasurer, Cameron Dick and Tourism Minister Michael Healy to view and officially open Norships state-of-the-art multifaceted facility.
As a major infrastructure boost to the Cairns marine precinct, this 62m long x 26m high, state-of-the-art shed will create jobs and elevate shipyard capabilities to a new level. It is the first facility of its kind in the North, providing all-weather protection, humidity control and full filtration to meet the growing demand for greener practices within the maritime industry. The facility will attract and offer clients’ flexibility year-round.
This project exemplifies a local industry and community-led initiative. It was designed and constructed by Cairns Steel Fabrication, with substantial funding from Norship and matching grant support from both the Australian Government and the State Government.
